Katich''s summer double celebration -- kid plus the Ashes

Sydney, July 27 (ANI): Australian opener Simon Katich is planning a double celebration this summer, with the arrival of his first child.

The new arrival is scheduled for the week after the Ashes.

Katich and wife Georgie discovered she was pregnant before Australia''s Test series against Pakistan, which finished 1-1 with Katich Australia''s leading run-scorer and the only Australian batsman to average over 45.

''''I haven''t looked at an end date, the last couple of years have probably been my best. I don''t want to say, ''Geez, this could be all over in a year or two years.'' Who knows? I just want to keep enjoying playing cricket,” The Age quoted him, as saying.

''''It''s hard to say because I haven''t spoken to Ricky or Michael about that situation. That''s their business. They probably know what they''re thinking. I don''t know whether they''ve got the same opinion as me but I''ve really enjoyed being back in the team these last two years. I''ve cherished every opportunity,'''' he added.

''''I''ve just really enjoyed these last couple of years, taking it Test by Test, trying to play every Test as if it''s my last, and I think that''s really helped me go out there and enjoy it and relax and be consistent,'''' he said. (ANI)
