Amit Mishra the so called replacement for Anil Kumble, was included in the first test against Bangladesh because Harbhajan Singh was not well. He took 3 wickets in the first inning and 4 in the second. In addition to this he also scored a good half century as a night watch man. Also in the first inning he scored a valuable 14 runs and added 32 runs with Sachin in a team total of 243.
No Captain/team/coach can ask for more from a player who is playing just his 7th Test match. He helped india in winning the test and was a front runner for the man of the match award.
But the excellence of Mr. Dhoni wanted some thing more from this poor guy. MSD while deciding the team for the 2nd match thinks otherwise, His regular Bhajji (only 1 wicket in the first inning that too of the number 11 batsmen)was back. But after having a look at the pitch MSD decided to play 2 spinners in the match. As his strike spinner was back Amit Mishra has to sit out but in MSD's point of view Amit Mishra was not even fit to be in team as the second spinner. He opted for Pragyan Ojha as his second choice.
A young guy who is coming from a 7 wicket haul and a fifty suddenly finds him out of the playing eleven its really a matter of depression for him. If we are seriously looking for a genuine leggie after JUMBO Amit Mishra is definitely a good prospect. But instances like this will definitely shatter his confidence.
MSD's love for Pragyan Ojha is known to everybody. But his personal likeness should not affect the team. Also it creates sections in the team. which is not a good sign for any team.Dhoni instead of doing a team march everytime in front of media should discuss with his team mates and think tank and then decide final eleven.
Dhoni is a brilliant captain NO DOUBTS but he is not above TEAM INDIA. Cricket lovers watch Team India playing and playing to its full strength, they dont come to watch politics in the team.
